Good Morning Church Family!
Dear Northwood Berkeley Saints,
What a week it has been! VBS was a blast!! I’m so grateful for the children who came this week to learn that Jesus is the Light of the World. I was grateful to see some children and families I was not familiar with that had been invited by members of our congregation. This coming Sunday we will celebrate what God did at VBS. The children will sing in our worship service; we will see a video recap of VBS, and after our 11:00 a.m. worship service, we have a covered dish celebration. Jeff Hartman is supposed to grill us up some hot dogs, and y’all can bring whatever else you want to bring. I want to extend a special thanks to Ed and the many, many volunteers that helped at VBS this week. This Sunday morning, we will also witness another baptism. I’m thankful for how God is working in our congregation.
Midweek @Berkeley continues this Wednesday night. Our adults will be examining Hebrews 9 and having a time of concentrated prayer for missions. Our children will have Kingdom Kids and our students will be involved with The Crave Student Ministry. Speaking of students, our students knocked it out of the park helping with VBS! Never say you are too old or that you are too young to serve the Lord. See you at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
On August 2 at 5:00, the Northwood Family of Churches will gather at Northwood Baptist East Bay for our quarterly night of prayer. Please make it a priority to come hear and celebrate what God is doing in all of our churches and what our future ministry opportunities are for the Northwood Family. We will be able to pray with our brothers and sisters from our Northwood family for all our congregations. This is always a special evening of blessing as we worship God and humbly petition Him.
I leave you with this quote I came across as I was formulating a reflection for the St. Francis Hospital community.
“We are at this moment as close to God as we really choose to be. True, there are times when we would like to know a deeper intimacy, but when it comes to the point, we are not prepared to pay the price involved.” ~ J. Oswald Sanders
The service is streamed weekly on Facebook
