Jay has served as the Lead Pastor of Northwood Baptist Berkeley since February of 2023. Before coming over to NBC Berkeley, Jay served as the Student Pastor at Northwood Baptist Greenridge for seven years. Jay has a Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina. Jay placed his faith in Christ at the age of twelve.

Jay has been married to Linda since December of 2010. Linda is a supportive pastor’s wife and seeks to encourage congregants through her hugs, prayers, and kind words. Jay and Linda enjoy spending time together taking walks, watching Gamecock football, eating at the Barony House in Moncks Corner and going to the beach at Kiawah Island in South Carolina as well as the North Carolina coast. Jay and Linda also enjoy spending time with Jaden their Special Needs daughter. Jaden calls herself the Director and both folds and hands out Sunday morning worship guides. Jaden likes to call Jay the following nicknames…..Skippy Bo Bo, Billy Ray Chuck Chuck, Papa, Papee, Butterbean, Big Bean, Dr. Fred Jones, and Pablo. Jaden keeps Jay and Linda grounded reminding them and everyone she encounters about the joy of simple faith and trust in Christ
