Welcome!

We are so glad you're here!

What to expect

You can expect to be warmly welcomed, and you can expect to be challenged to grow in your relationship with Jesus. Northwood is an exciting and growing church. Come expecting the God of all creation to change you forever! Below are some commonly asked questions about our church.

Who we are

We are a Southern Baptist Church located in Summerville, South Carolina that’s committed to helping you Connect Faith to Life. That’s more than a slogan. It’s the heartbeat of our church as we strive together to become fully surrendered followers of Jesus. Our desire is to help you become who Christ wants you to be, because we are convinced that when you become who Christ wants you to be, you’ll begin to do what He wants you to do. At Northwood, we’ll help you encounter God and experience community. We’ll equip you to make disciples, and we’ll help you engage the world.

What we believe

What we believe matters, and Northwood Berkeley has firm convictions. We are a conservative Southern Baptist church. We believe that the Bible is authoritative and sufficient for all matters of faith and practice. We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son who died and rose again to make a way for sinful people to have an eternal relationship with the Heavenly Father. We believe that the church is God’s chosen instrument to make Christ known in this broken world. We believe that someday Jesus will return to this earth for His people to be with His people forever.

As a cooperating Southern Baptist Church, we affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as our statement of faith.

"What Are Your Services Like?"

Our worship service is at 11:00AM on Sunday mornings. You can expect a time of singing, focused prayer, and an inspiring and practical message from the Bible. The goal is to lead you and your family to know Jesus, worship Jesus, and be changed by Jesus.

“What Do I Wear?"

There is no dress code at Northwood Berkeley. Most people dress casually. Come as you are. We just want you to come.

"What Do You Have Available For My Child?"

No matter the age of your child, we have something for them! We offer nursery for babies and toddlers during both services. During our 9:30 hour, we offer Life Connection Groups for children from kindergarten (age 5) through fifth grade (age 11). During the 11:00 service, our kids 5 and up year (Kindergarten through 5th grade) enjoy Children's Church. For your middle and high schoolers, we have Life Connection Groups at 9:30 and encourage them to attend the 11:00 worship service.

Slide
"What safety measures do you take to protect the children in your care?"

All of our children and student volunteers have a cleared background check on file and are trained to serve with your children.

When you check your child into Northwood Kids, he/she will receive a security sticker and you will receive a sticker with a corresponding alphanumeric code. An approved volunteer will match your tag to your child's tag upon check out.
