Good Morning Church Family!

Hello Northwood Berkeley!

This past Sunday it was great celebrating two baptisms!  It is always joyous to witness when people publicly proclaim that Christ has saved them.

Philippians 4:4-7 reminds us:

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

As followers of Christ, we would be joyful people who take our needs confidently to God.  Of all people, we should be joyful and confident.  We have every reason to display positive attitudes.  Pastor Chuck Swindoll reminds us of the importance of attitude.

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.  Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.  It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say, or do.  It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.  It will make or break a company… a church… a home.  The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day.  We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.  We cannot change the inevitable.  The only thing we can do is play the one string we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

And so it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes”

I pray a watching world will see our joy, confidence in the Lord, and amazing attitudes.

This Sunday, Jacob Ard will be preaching about speech from the Book of Proverbs.  Jacob is a young man I was able to disciple several years ago and has developed into a great ministry partner.  Jacob is a gifted communicator, and we will be blessed to hear him preach this week.  On Sunday Night, Pastor Cody Coxwell from Northwood Greenridge will be teaching at Discipleship before we break up into small groups.  Pastor Cody is also a gifted communicator.  Our Crave Student Ministry will meet on Sunday at 6:00 p.m.

Please be in prayer for me, Dana Bowers, and Josh White as we join a team consisting of Pastor Buck from Northwood at Wando Woods and a number of people from Northwood Greenridge as we travel to Huntington, West Virginia for a mission trip.

We will have another baptism on Sunday, June 30 at our 11:00 a.m. worship service.  On Sunday evening, June 30 please join us at Northwood Greenridge for the best fireworks show in the Lowcountry.

Grace to you,
Pastor Jay
