Good Morning Church Family!

Hey NBC Berkeley Church Family,

We serve a great God! “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; And his greatness is unsearchable” –Psalm 145:3. The hymn “Great is Thy Faithfulness” reminds us…

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine with 10, 000 beside
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.

Our great God is doing some great things at Northwood Berkeley! This past Sunday night, Josh Pelletier kicked off our first-ever Preaching Lab. Josh preached from Philippians 2:5-11 and Pastor Jim, Pastor Tommy, Pastor Trey, and I encouraged and critiqued Josh. The congregation had a chance to affirm Josh and we had a finger food fellowship afterwards. This coming Sunday night, September 1, James Peeples will preach a message from Ephesians 1:3-14. We will have an ice cream social afterward. Join us Sunday at 6:00 p.m. It’s great that God is raising up men who can preach the Word of God from our midst.

This Sunday morning, September 1 is Pop-up Sunday. This is where our children go into a new grade in their Life Connection Groups. We will have some preschoolers join the children’s classes and some children join our students. We hope to see you at 9:30 a.m. for Pop-up Sunday. Speaking of our students, our Crave Student Ministry will kick off for the Fall with a Fellowship at Chuck and Dana Bower’s house on September 7 from 6-8 p.m. Our Crave Student Ministry will start meeting again regularly on Sunday nights starting September 8th.

Speaking of young people, have you noticed all the young people serving at our church? We have youngsters in the sound booth, helping with streaming services, passing out bulletins, singing songs of praise with Bryson, playing instruments, and helping in other ways. Young people are not the church of tomorrow, they are part of the church today!

One of our prayers is that our church could be a blessing to the community. Our own Hope Engelhardt has brought a need to our attention. Hope serves as a classroom instructor at Moncks Corner Elementary School for Special Needs Children. The Berkeley County School District has not allocated funds for classroom supplies and teaching aids for the Special Needs Classroom. We have an opportunity as believers at Northwood Berkeley to meet this need. Hope has provided a list of supplies needed.

Please reach out to the church for more information.

Keep on praying for one another!

Grace to you,
Pastor Jay
