Good Morning Church Family!
Hello Northwood Berkeley,
Proverbs 18:10 reminds us that
the name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.
The LORD is strong. The LORD is faithful. The LORD protects His people and His church. Even in a world of disease, disaster, and danger there is no safer place to be than in a relationship with God. We may suffer and have difficulties in this life, but God is with us and redeeming even our painful episodes for our ultimate good and His glory. May we as individuals, families, and a church family run to the LORD in everything we do.
This Sunday is Covenant Sunday!! We get to affirm before God and each other our commitment to the Lord and His church. We decided as a congregation to practice covenant membership on a yearly basis. That means that every year we get the opportunity to reaffirm our church membership at Northwood Baptist Berkeley. During this Sunday’s worship we will read the Northwood Church Covenant as a church family. Church members and those we have talked to about membership will have a time to place our signed church covenants in a basket at the front of the sanctuary. In signing the church covenant, we are affirming we are committing ourselves to the Lord and His local church. Please invite guests to Covenant Sunday. It will be a great opportunity to for them to figure out what our church is about. To celebrate our first ever Covenant Sunday we will have a church wide potluck meal after the worship service. All are invited. If you would like to sign-up to bring food for the meal, please sign-up at the following link.
On Sunday morning we will hear a message called “The Knowledge of Love” from 1 Corinthians 8:1-13. Go ahead and read this passage and familiarize yourself with it. Then pray for the sermon and how you are to respond to it. We can be confident that God will bless the preaching of His Word!!! On Sunday Night we will Kingdom Kids for the children, Crave for the Youth, and Discipleship for adults. The adults will be discussing an overview of 1 and 2 Chronicles.
On Saturday, November 2nd, Northwood Baptist Berkeley will host a Fall Festival from 3-5 p.m. I need you to do three things for the Fall Festival.
- Pray
- Invite Friends
- Sign-up to help. ( We still need one person to volunteer to cook hotdogs. If you are the guy or gal let me know.) Otherwise, see below.
