Hello NBC Berkeley!

Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! – 1 Chronicles 16:25.

Praise God for what He is doing at Northwood Berkeley. In the last few weeks we have put up a new church sign, unified around signing the church covenant, had a bunch of volunteers help put on the Fall Festival, seen several people join our congregation, and had quite a few guests attend worship. Thank you for doing your part to serve the Lord.

Looking ahead….on Sunday we will affirm our church officers and committees for the coming year. Thank you to our nominating committee. Jesus Christ is the Head of our church, Pastor Jim and I serve as under-shepherds that provide spiritual guidance to our church. Our deacons provide servant leadership. At NBC Berkeley we believe every covenant member is a minister. Therefore, we will have some committee’s that are delegated to assist the pastor/elders and deacons accomplish the mission of the church. We only have committee’s that are specified by the church by-laws and most ministry takes place outside that committee structure. Don’t worry we wont be a committee led or committee driven church. We all have heard horror stories of churches that die and decline because of committee’s that are out of control. Our committee’s will help serve the mission of the church. On November 25 we will have an Operation Christmas Child packing party at 6:00 p.m. This will be a church wide event. Please bring an appetizer or dessert.

Thank you for your prayers for my most recent medical tests. We are still awaiting results. Your prayers and texts are very encouraging. Thank you to Pastor Jim for leading Prayer Meeting and our Wildcat Senior Living Outreach.
