Good Morning Church Family!
Dear Church Family,
Isaiah 12:5 declares,
Sing to the LORD, for He has done wonderful things. Make known His praise around the world.
We should be a people that praises the Lord through song and speech. Our God has done wonderful things. We should declare His greatness and salvation everywhere we go. Where we can’t go, we should pray for and support those who do go. In December, we will be collecting money for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. The Lottie Moon Christmas offering supports Southern Baptist International Mission Board missionaries around the world. Please be in prayer about how much the Lord is leading you to give to the Lottie Moon offering. Last year as I recall we met our goal of $3000. This year let’s set a goal of $3,500.
Last Sunday we affirmed our church officers and committee members for the coming year. I am thankful to our Nominating Committee of Dennis Doerr, Hauouidae Forbes, and Linda Glasgow for their willingness to serve. This nominating committee is now disbanded since their work is complete. A new committee will be appointed next year. The work of the rest of the committees is just starting! Of course, most of our church ministry is actually done outside of our committee structure but the committees that do exist serve an important role.
This Sunday night we will have an Operation Christmas Child Packing Party at 6:00 p.m. This event is for the whole family. Please bring an appetizer or dessert. Other church activities are canceled that night. If the Lord leads you please buy and bring
- a wow item like a soccer ball with pump, doll, stuffed animal, and shoes
- Toys toy cars, jump ropes, yo-yos, musical instruments, toys that light up and make noise (with extra batteries)
- Personal care items toothbrushes, washcloths, combs, hairbrushes
- School supplies pens, pencils, sharpeners, crayons, markers, notebooks, paper, coloring and picture books, solar calculators
- Accessories socks, sunglasses, jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries)
On December 1, from 5-7 p.m. we will join Northwood Baptist Greenridge for the Lowcountry’s annual tree lighting ceremony, Celebrate the Light. Join us at our sister church at 2200 Greenridge Road, North Charleston for a night of music, coffee, hot chocolate, food trucks, and celebrating the Light of the World.
I’m thankful to be your pastor!
