Dear Northwood Berkeley Saints,

I want to thank our congregation! With the less-than-ideal weather coming in last weekend, a lot of people were able to pivot in a hurry to make a Saturday morning worship service possible. It is important for the people of God to gather corporately in worship. Many believers around the world long to gather openly without threat, and some even persist in corporate worship even if it means the potential of loss of life and limb. While ideally, we gather on a Sunday in honor of our Lord’s resurrection; last week’s Saturday worship was meaningful. It was great to see so many NBC Berkeley people present, and it was wonderful having so many from NBC Greenridge present as well. A smaller church can pivot quicker and easier, and I’m glad we were able to do so. So, thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make Saturday worship happen. As a congregation, I always want to have our foot on the gas when it comes to ministry. There will always be obstacles in serving Christ. We must always focus on how we can do something as opposed to focusing on what is getting in the way of God’s work.

Ladies, don’t forget that this Friday night, Lindsay is hosting an evening of prayer and worship for the ladies.

On Sunday night, Northwood Berkeley will have a Super Bowl watch party although we will be looking at TPUSA’s alternative halftime show. Sign up to bring something to munch on. It will be a wonderful time for the entire church family to gather and have fun. The festivities start at 6:00 p.m. Go New Orleans Saints!! Ok I know they aren’t playing in the Super Bowl and didn’t even make the playoffs but go Saints!

This Sunday, we will observe the Lord’s Supper during our morning worship service. I will be preaching an exciting text from Romans 11 called from “Theology to Doxology.”   We are going to see three specific reasons we have to worship God! On Sunday mornings our congregation has Life Connection Groups that meet at 9:30 a.m. This is a great place to find community. See you on Sunday!
