Good Morning Church Family!

Dear Northwood Saints,

Our Scriptural theme verse for the year is Ephesians 3:20-21.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

We have challenged you to pray this Scripture every day for our congregation and for the Northwood Family of Churches. We are praying that God does far more abundantly beyond all we could ask, think, or imagine here at Northwood Berkeley and in our family of churches. We are praying that God does such amazing things that only He can get the glory for takes place. I want you to continue to pray this verse. Ryan Pack, the Lead Pastor at Riverland Hills Baptist Church in Irmo challenged his congregation to pray the following verses for his church. I challenge you to pray the same for Northwood Berkeley.

  • Revelation 2:4–5 — Pray that the church does not lose its first love.
  • Colossians 4:2 — Pray that the church would devote itself to prayer.
  • Matthew 9:37–38 — Pray that more workers would step up to faithfully serve.
  • Acts 4:12 — Pray that the church will boldly share Jesus as the only hope for salvation.
  • 2 Timothy 4:2 — Pray that pastors will preach the Word of God without apology.
  • John 4:24 — Pray that the church will worship God in spirit and in truth.
  • 1 Peter 5:2–3 — Pray that our leaders will serve humbly as godly examples to all.
  • Colossians 1:28–29 — Pray that the church will strive to present everyone mature in Christ.
  • Ephesians 4:11–12 — Pray that our leaders equip the saints for the work of ministry.
  • John 17:20–23 — Pray that believers will be unified as one so others will see Jesus.

Some churches are known for fussing, feuding, and criticism. God-honoring churches are known for prayer. Northwood Berkeley is going to be a praying church! Last night we prayed for the spread of the Gospel and other requests at Pastor’s Bible Study and Prayer Time. This Saturday at 11:00 a.m., the Women on Mission will gather to pray for missions, missionaries, the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, and the spread of the Gospel in our community and around the world. I would encourage all ladies to join the Women on Mission group this week.

Join us this Sunday for Life Connection Group at 9:30 as we experience community and reflect upon the Word of God. No matter what season of life you are in, we have a group for you. At our 11:00 a.m. worship service, we will share the Biblical Ordinance of the Lord’s Supper. Our sermon text for Sunday will come from Romans 12:9-21, “A Portrait of Genuine Love.” See you Sunday.

Grace to you,
Pastor Jay
