Good Morning Church Family!
Dear NBC Berkeley Church Family,
The baptismal waters have been stirring and Northwood Baptist Berkeley!!
In Acts 8, Philip has been sent by God to interact with an Ethiopian eunuch who was reading a scroll from Isaiah 53. Philipp explained that the Scripture was talking about the Messiah. The Eunuch trusted Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior. Immediately afterward, Acts 8:36 records.
And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?”
Please notice that immediately after the Eunuch was regenerated by God and born again to salvation that he was baptized by immersion. That’s what Christians do after they are saved. They are supposed to be baptized. Baptism does not save a person, but it is a public testimony that someone now identifies with Jesus. Baptism is a picture of the hope we place in the death and resurrection of Christ and a picture that we have died to sin and have been raised by Christ to a new life. Last Sunday, Ms. Annie was baptized. This week, Ms. Carla and Ms. Melissa will be baptized. Come join us for this celebration at the start of our 11:00 a.m. worship service.
On Sunday night, we will join for our quarterly Northwood Family of Churches Prayer Meeting. Let’s bring out a big crowd from NBC Berkeley and pray with our brothers and sisters from our sister churches. We will hear reports of what God is doing in our churches. We will meet at Northwood Baptist Church Wando Woods at 5:00 p.m. this Sunday. NBC Wando Woods is located at 4123 Dorsey Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405. It will be a blessing, don’t miss out.
Please read Exodus 32 in preparation for worship on Sunday. After completing our Exodus series, we will be studying 1 John this summer.
Don’t forget, Vacation Bible School is July 20-24. Please be in prayer for Ed, our children, and our leaders. Please pray about how you can serve!
Grace to you,
Pastor Jay
