Good Morning Church Family!
Hello Northwood Berkeley Church Saints,
Linda and I missed you last week! We had a great time on vacation, but we truly feel out of place not being with our church family. After attending a church service on the beach boardwalk that a local Methodist Church sponsors, I was able to watch our congregation worship live on YouTube. I appreciate the entire technical team that makes sure that happens. I know a lot of hard work goes into that production. I appreciate Alex preaching on Sunday morning and Pastor Jim for teaching at prayer meeting and at discipleship. God has blessed our congregation with hard working servants and that includes gifted preachers and teachers.
Join us for worship this coming Sunday. In preparation, please read Exodus 35-40. We will be finishing up our sermon series from The Scroll of Exodus. The name of this Sunday’s sermon is “Lessons Learned from the Finished Tabernacle.” After Exodus we will be studying the Epistle of 1 John the rest of the summer. Please be in prayer for the West Virginia Mission team that will be serving the LORD June 23-27 in Huntington. We have eight NBC Berkeley participants joining a team of 51 total from the Northwood Family of Churches. Alex Valdes will lead our congregation in a time of prayer for this team. This Sunday is Father’s Day. Thank you to all the dads in our congregation. Because of Father’s Day, we will not have any Sunday evening activities this week.
In the last few weeks, we have seen three adult ladies follow Jesus in New Testament baptism. The last Sunday of June we have some more baptisms scheduled. If you want to talk to me about being baptized on that day yourself, find me after the worship service or fill out baptism as a next step on your Connect to Berkeley card.
Yesterday I had a conversation with someone that now has been to Northwood Berkeley twice. She was amazed by the warm fellowship, caring, dedication to the LORD and laughter she has experienced. God is doing something special at Northwood Baptist Berkeley. Let’s invite others to join what God is doing.
Grace to you,
Pastor Jay
